Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Sadism
People with NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) suffer from two kinds of illusion: self-grandiosity (“I deserve to have the best because I am the best.”) and omnipotence (“I can do whatever I want because I am incapable of nothing.”) Narcissists have many ways of manifesting these two illusions, one of which is sadism. Movie celebrities continue making movies because, for one thing, movie fans keep on watching their movies, giving them more “power” to make even more movies. The same principle applies to narcissism. It is wonderful that these people usually have troubles building long-lasting relationships with others (family, friend, colleagues, workmates, neighbors) but together, they make a perfect couple. This makes the both of them sadomasochists.
NPD, DPD, sadism, and masochism are all kinds of disorders and perversions, which can be cured. If you think you are suffering from it, consult your doctor. The longer it is ignored, the harder it will be cured.
