Was Alyssa Alano Guilty Of Drunk Driving?

October 13. Saturday. 3AM. Jeremye Daud, most popularly known as Alyssa Alano, met a car accident on Marcos Highway, Marikina City. Aside from being well-lit, the area was not one of the declared accident-prone spots in Metro Manila.

After her Ford Everest sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed into a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) metal fence, Alyssa

Alano suffered from several injuries including a steel bar pierced in her hip that required an operation. The Marikina Rescue Team immediately responded and rushed her to the Marikina Valley Medical Center.

The 25-year-old TV actress and host was reportedly drunk while driving that day. According to the police, a bottle of beer was found in her car and she reeked alcohol during the rescue operation. That she was drunk during those wee hours was confirmed by her cousin, as well. However, manager, Annie Ayroso, denied her intoxication. If the intoxication is proven, no compensation will be subsidized by Alyssa Alano's insurance.

According to the police spokesperson of Marikina City, Supt. Emmanuel Tabuena, Alyssa Alano will have to be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property. Moreover, the traffic management division Head of Marikina City, Chief Insp. Ronald Girao, reported that she will also face the complaint filed against her by Elizer Abelino, who is one of the five passengers of the Honda Civic consequently hit by the fence after she crashed into it. Along with Abelino were passengers Rovelyn Cruz, Michael Morales, Rizalin Perez, and Anna Sarsonas and the driver Giuseppe Arabejo, who all had minor injuries.

Born on August 11, 1987 in Zamboanga City, Alyssa Alano  was raised in Tarlac singlehandedly by her Filipina mother after her Spanish-Australian father left them. She started her showbiz career as

a member of the sexy female group Viva Hotbabes. She went on to become a talent of GMA Network and now a mainstay host of StarTalk since 2007.
